Important Update on Gitcoin and Transition to $SQR in our Daily Karma Rewards
Karma Pool Post-transition: After the transition from $USDT to $SQR, the Daily Karma Rewards pool will be 10,000 $SQR.
Withdrawal Conditions:
It is necessary to have a Gitcoin Passport with a minimum of 18 points to withdraw $SQR rewards after the Token Generation Event (TGE).
If you don't have a Gitcoin Passport with at least 18 points linked to your account one day before the TGE, all the $SQR accumulated in your account will be removed.
These confiscated $SQR tokens will be manually redistributed among users who have a Gitcoin Passport connected to their Magic Store account. The distribution will be based on their all-time Karma, ensuring a proportional and equitable distribution.
Important Notes:
We are giving you the opportunity to link your Gitcoin accounts until the very last day before the TGE. Those who fail to do so will lose their rewards.
We incentivize you to be active daily and accumulate as much Karma as possible. Only Gitcoin users will reap the benefits and obtain the $SQR tokens.
Transitioning from USDT to $SQR - What You Need to Know?
Following a community vote, it has been decided that rewards during the Beta will transition from $USDT to $SQR.
Withdrawal Threshold Lowered: Starting from October 31, you can withdraw your $USDT with a minimum amount of $0.1, provided you have a Gitcoin score of 18 points or above connected to your MagicID.
$USDT to $SQR Conversion: On November 9, any remaining $USDT balance will be converted to $SQR at a rate of $0.1 per $SQR. For example, 5 USDT will become 50 $SQR.
Claiming Rewards Post-TGE: After November 9, the âClaim Rewards'' function will be on hold until the $SQR Token TGE (Token Generation Event). Ensure your Gitcoin Passport is linked to your MagicID with at least 18 points to claim $SQR tokens post-TGE.
Flexibility and Choice: You have the option to either withdraw your $USDT or let it automatically convert to $SQR on November 9.
Enhancing User Experience and Platform Stability
New Validation Process Modal: We've implemented a new modal to actively engage users in reviewing projects, fostering a more interactive and involved community.
Accessibility for Non-Logged-In Users: In our pursuit of inclusivity, we've made story pages accessible to non-logged-in users, allowing for a sneak peek into the platform before signing up.
500 Error Resolution: A critical bug causing a 500 error on project pages has been addressed, ensuring smoother navigation and access to projects.
Enhanced Gitcoin Messaging: We've updated the messaging within Gitcoin, adding clarifying text to guide users in consistently using the same wallet, streamlining the transaction process.
Effective Transition to In-House Voting
As of today, October 16, 2023, Magic Store is transitioning from the Snapshot voting system to our bespoke in-house voting mechanism for all new votings. Hereâs what this change entails:
New Votings: All new validation votings will now be conducted through our internal voting system.
Existing Snapshot Votings: Current votings on Snapshot will continue unaffected. Members can cast their votes on these until they close. No new votings will be initiated on Snapshot.
User Experience: The voting process for our community remains largely unchanged. Voters need a verified Magic Store account and will sign their voting decision with their wallets. They will continue to earn Karma and Zealy XP as usual. The primary difference is that new votings are accessible exclusively through our store.
Why the Change?
Enhanced Karma and Zealy XP Distribution: Our internal system addresses the distribution issues we encountered with Karma and Zealy XP on Snapshot.
Improved Voting Power Control: This transition allows us to fine-tune the distribution of voting power, offering flexibility that better aligns with our evolving needs.
User FAQs:
Will I still get Karma for voting? Yes, the process for earning Karma remains the same.
Are there any voting power restrictions? Yes, there are restrictions, but the requirements remain unchanged. In order to Vote you will need the following: (EVM Wallet, Verified Email, Username)
Will the integration with Zealy operate as before? Yes, there are no changes to its functionality.
What about old projects still on Snapshot? You will continue earning Karma for voting on these. The closure of these validations will proceed smoothly, with the Snapshot results being visible.
âĒ Introducing Gitcoin Passport to Magic Store: Magic Store is committed to ensuring that our platform remains a bastion of trust, transparency, and genuine user interaction. Note: For these specific campaigns, Karma and Binance Gift Cards will be allocated every hour. So, if you claim your rewards at 5:55, anticipate them by 6:00. However, if claimed at 5:05, they'll be delivered by 6:00, that's in 55 minutes.

Analytical Enhancement: We've curated a comprehensive list of time frame options, which will enable users to effectively view token statistics on the Project page. This should provide a more detailed and flexible analytical overview.
Button Clarity Upgrade: To enhance user experience and clarity, we've replaced the "Add/Open" button for projects with a more intuitive "View" button.
Security Strengthening: To counteract potential abuse, we've implemented an IP address verification mechanism for the "refer a friend" feature. This should deter users from taking advantage of the system through multiple referrals from the same device or network.
UI Optimization: We've made a user interface adjustment in the Magic Store. The spacing between individual elements has been reduced to offer a cleaner and more compact visual experience. This tweak aims to provide users with a more streamlined layout and improved navigation.

This move is intended to prevent potential abuses and ensure a safer environment for our users.

This step will help combat automated bots and ensure genuine user interactions.
User Access Monitoring: As another security enhancement, we've introduced a basic analysis of User Agent data. This will allow us to better understand and monitor the devices accessing our platform, aiding in the identification and prevention of potential threats.
UI Consistency Improvement: We've addressed some discrepancies in the Hot Offer section by implementing user interface fixes, especially pertaining to claimed amounts. This will ensure users receive a more consistent and accurate overview of available offers.
